We are fortunate to have an administrative staff who attend to the daily operations of the theatre. We are also fortunate to have an artistic staff consisting of a set designer, light/sound designer, costume designer, and technical director, who research, design, and organize our shows. However the staff does not do it alone; these professionals train and work with volunteers who are interested in their respective areas of expertise. Volunteers not only paint, shop, sew, build, and create our excellent sets and costumes – some volunteers have even designed entire shows with the support of our staff

Please Call during business hours 10a.m. to 5p.m., our shops and offices are open to all interested volunteers. Most Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.: set construction, painting, and props gathering. Please call ahead for schedule. Some weekend work calls for sets, painting, costumes, or lights as needed.

PRE-PRODUCTION PRODUCTION

Casting Committee
Serve on a committee comprised of three volunteers responsible for casting membership shows.

Set Construction
Work with the Technical Director building and rigging sets, and loading them onto the stage. Knowledge of power tools, set construction, or
carpentry is helpful but not necessary.

Set Painting and Props
The Set Designer uses volunteers to paint scenery and set pieces and to gather and build props. Painting tasks range from base coating to detail work. Props gathering involves finding items in storage as well as shopping.

Light and Sound
Work with the Light/Sound Designer hanging lights, cutting gels, and programming the light and sound boards. Calls to be set up by the designer.

Costumes
Work with the Costume Designer building new and altering existing costumes. You do not need to know how to sew. Help may be needed in the form of distressing or dyeing fabric, fitting or finishing, or decorating hats and shoes.

Backstage positions require evening and weekend hours and follow our performance schedule. Crews share duties and time commitments. All crews receive instructions and individual training.

Props Runners
Duties include setting and striking props during a show, helping with on-stage scenery pieces, and assisting actors with offstage procurement and use of props.

Dressers
Duties include helping actors with costume quick changes, on the spot repairs, and laundry prep.

Hair and Make-up
Assist actors with make-up application and hair/wig styling.

Lights and Sound
Run the light board, sound board or follow spots.

Set Crew
Prepare the stage prior to the show. Move scenery between scenes and acts.

Stage Manager/Asst. S.M.
Oversee rehearsals, call the show, be the person who is responsible and in charge. This is a major time commitment for one person, with previous experience as an ASM required. ASMs come in during tech week and work every performance, unless duty sharing.
